PSG keep Skrinjar waiting as Inter boss rules out January move

Paris Saint-Germain will have to wait until June to sign Milan Skriniar after Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta ruled out a move before the January transfer window closes.

On Sunday, the centre-back announced he would join the French champions, although it was unclear if PSG would pay the €20m commission Inter had been demanding for the defender’s move this month.

Skrinjar was left out of Inter’s squad for the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Atalanta, but Marotta said the Slovakian international would remain at AC Milan until the end of his contract before joining PSG.

“There is a dynamic that makes players change jerseys frequently,” Marotta told Mediaset. “We have to get used to this kind of football.

“It’s not what we like, it’s not what the fans like, but we compare ourselves to professionals.

“Skrinjar has made a choice that is in line with his rights and we must respect him.

“We are confident that he will continue to show the same professionalism and seriousness that he has always displayed throughout the months leading up to the end of the season and that he is ready to continue to represent this jersey.”
