Yasser Al-Meshal told Britain’s Talk Sport radio when asked whether his country would seek to host the World Cup in 2030 or 2034, saying: “It’s just a guess. We haven’t announced.” any intentions in this regard.”
He continued: “No matter what date we start, we will wait for the International Federation (FIFA) meeting in October when they will announce the rules and controls regarding the request for the tournament in its next edition, and then we will think about it.” .
Al-Meshal added: “It is obvious that our country lives by football. You have seen it and dream of hosting the World Cup. I believe that we have what it takes to host it at some point in the future,” explaining : “But this decision remains with the relevant authorities, and no decision has been made yet.” There is no decision yet.”
Yasser Al Meshal confirmed that for now, “we will focus on hosting the Club World Cup next December and will continue with our plans to host the 2027 Asian Cup Final.”
