    Premier League News: Rumor has it Chelsea want to sign Nkunka and David in January

    Chelsea have reportedly identified two main targets for the January transfer window: RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku and Lille’s Jonathan David.

    Nkunku has been in brilliant form for the past 18 months. Last season he scored 35 goals in 52 appearances for the club and was rewarded with a debut for France in March. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker, who has been equally brilliant for Leipzig this season, is set for a breakthrough World Cup campaign with the defending champions.

    David will also take part in the World Championship, representing Canada for only the second time they have reached the final and the first time since 1986. For Lille, the 22-year-old has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 11 Ligue 1 matches this season.

    Chelsea’s interest in Nkunku has been on the rise for months, with David recently on their radar and both could be in blue by the end of January.

    News has emerged in recent weeks that Chelsea were able to get Nkunku’s preliminary medical in the recent transfer window and despite Leipzig’s desire to keep his services until the end of the season, The Mirror reports that Chelsea are trying to secure a deal in January priced in the £52 million range.

    Meanwhile, Jeunesfooteux claims Chelsea will cost at least £60m to tempt Lille to let David go as the Canadian still has a contract until June 2025.

    The Mirror report added that Chelsea are looking to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossar, to whom head coach Graham Potter became attached during his time at the Seagulls. However, they may face competition from Atlético Madrid.
