Premier League News: Chalobah signs new long-term contract with Chelsea

Trevo Chalobah has been rewarded for his impressive form under Graham Potter with a new deal that will see him stay at Chelsea until at least 2028.

The 23-year-old has been an important player since Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel in September, driving 12 of the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager’s 14 games.

In total, Chalobah has made 43 appearances for the Blues and is now committed to the Blues until at least June 2028 with the possibility of a club extension until 2029.

The defender, who has been at Chelsea since he was nine years old, said: “I am over the moon to sign this contract. Every time I wear a shirt, it’s a great honor. I want to give everything and do everything for this club.

“As everyone knows, I have been here since I was young, and staying here is the dream of every child. Whenever I have the chance, I will give my all to the club and look to the future.”

Chelsea chairman Todd Boly and co-owner Behdad Egbali said: “We are delighted that Trevo will extend his stay at Chelsea.

“He has been with us since childhood and has grown into an exceptional young player.

“He plays an important role in our men’s first team squad and we’re excited to see what’s next for Trevo at Chelsea.”
