Market: Seattle Sounders win
Chances: 7/11 @888sport
Two teams battling at opposite ends of the Western Conference table, Seattle will host Sporting Kansas at Lumen Field on Sunday night.
Let’s start with the hosts, while Seattle may have been disappointed with just one point away to Real Salt Lake last weekend, the Sounders are enjoying an impressive start to a new campaign. Brian Schmetzer’s team is currently top of the Western Conference standings and has already scored 20 points in their first 10 games. Brian Schmetzer’s side have only lost one of their previous eight home matches in all competitions. Excited to be back at Lumen Field on Sunday night, the Greens continued their real romp in Washington. Last seen in front of their fans posting a remarkable 5-4 victory over the San Diego Loyal in the US Open Cup, Seattle scored 13 points in the first of five MLS matches on home soil. . Given this runaway run marked by a 4-0 win over the Colorado Rapids, Schmetzer’s men should smell a real chance here.
As for the away side, while Sporting Kansas may have extended their adventure at the US Open last month, the Wizards have found themselves in the middle of an MLS woeful rut. They last saw another troubling game on home soil when they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Montreal. Peter Vermes’ team, remarkably, has yet to win an MLS win since the opening of the 2023 campaign. Under scrutiny and bottom of the Western Conference standings, the Missouri team continues to build a reputation for blatant defensive performance. Knowing they’ll face a huge challenge when they head to Lumen Field this weekend, Sporting Kansas should also be concerned about their latest encounter with high-flying Seattle. A 4-1 hit when they welcomed Western leaders into town on March 25, a similar home win can be found with attractive odds on Sunday night.
