Postponement of Sheffield United Women’s Championship Game Following Maddie Cusack’s Tragic Passing

Sheffield United’s Women’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace, scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed due to the death of Maddie Cusack.

The 27-year-old, who made more than 100 appearances and also worked as the club’s marketing manager, died last Wednesday.

United said on social media: “Our @BarclaysWC match at Crystal Palace scheduled for Saturday 30th September has been postponed.

The Blades have been asked to postpone the game following the recent devastating news of Maddie Cusack’s passing.

“A new date for the match will be announced at a later date.”

The club paid tribute to Cusack ahead of the men’s Premier League match against Newcastle on Sunday, with players wearing shirts bearing her name and number and a minute’s silence observed in her honour.

In a statement, Palace said: “The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the club are with Maddie’s friends, family, teammates and colleagues.”
