Possible Replacements for Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur this Summer

While Tottenham may be on a new adventure after signing Ange Postecoglou last month, it’s Spurs’ attacking icon that has once again garnered most of the headlines this summer.

While record holder Erling Haaland may have worked his way into the Premier League history books last season, Harry Kane has enjoyed another hitting streak and only continues to solidify his place as one of the most accurate shooters in world football.

After scoring 30 Premier League goals last season and leading England to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, the Three Lions skipper finds himself at a career crossroads once again.

Entering the final 12 months of his current deal in north London and with no sign of an extension on the horizon, Kane remains at the center of a true transfer saga.

Tottenham have already turned down two official bids from Bayern Munich this summer, and the German giants are still insisting they make a blockbuster shot before the window closes.

With many North Londoners apprehensive that their record-breaking hero will finally leave the capital, we’ve looked at three bright stars who could make a worthy replacement for Kane.

    Even Ferguson – Brighton

Once again receiving a string of plaudits in the Premier League last season when they broke the famous European finish, Brighton have only gone from strength to strength since welcoming Roberto De Zerbi to the Amex back in September.

Having built a reputation for a loose approach under the former Sassuolo boss, it was the Seagulls’ up-and-coming flamboyant superstar who certainly topped Brighton’s top six last season.

Having already watched Alexis Mac Allister move to Liverpool last month and Moises Caicedo slowly approaching what an £80m move to Chelsea could mean, the Amex hierarchy knows there are plenty of Premier League heavyweights watching Evan Ferguson’s progress.

Bursting onto the scene after the winter break of the World Cup, the 18-year-old scored six goals last season and quickly emerged as one of Europe’s most promising young players.

Although players such as Manchester United and Chelsea have also reportedly expressed interest in the Ireland international. Sky Sports Back in May, it was speculated that Tottenham had identified Ferguson as a long-term replacement for Kane.

    Jonathan David – Lille

After all, after suffering grief last weekend when they missed out on a Champions League booking due to a one-point deficit, Lille resigned themselves to the fact that a number of their first-team stars would be forced to leave this summer.

While Les Douges may have been put to the test as they missed out on an important top-four finish, attacking talisman Paulo Fonseca is certainly finding his stock at a red-hot high.

After all, having finished the 2022/23 campaign with 24 Ligue 1 goals to his credit – a tally only surpassed by Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette – Jonathan David has plenty of European giants looking to test Lille’s resolve this summer.

WITH daily mail while reporting last weekend that Spurs had put the Canadian on their shortlist, the same report said the Ligue 1 side are seeking a reward of around £50m.

Having scored 58 goals in 136 games for Lille since moving from Gent in 2018, David has entered the final two years of his current contract at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

    Dusan Vlahovic – Juventus.

With Juventus still dealing with some government financial issues behind the scenes in Turin, the Italian icons have made it clear they are willing to cash in on their attacking talisman if they get an acceptable offer this summer.

Having signed from Fiorentina just 18 months ago on a £66m deal, Dušan Vlahović has pretty much struggled to find more stability at the Alliance and has been able to end the 2022/23 campaign with only three goals in his last 15 matches.

Though reports last week suggested French heavyweights PSG were mulling a potential price cut deal this summer. ESPN speculation is that Tottenham remain a long-time fan of the Juventus ace and would be ready to make a formal offer if Kane does move to Bayern.

As Spurs are known to be on good terms with Juventus after signing players such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, it has been suggested that both parties could have negotiated a deal in a timely manner.
