Pochettino eager for management comeback amidst Spurs speculation

According to Sky Sports, Mauricio Pochettino is ready to return to management from next season and will consider his options in the summer. The news comes in the midst of a management crisis at Tottenham Hotspur and a growing sense that Antonio Conte is about to leave the club, where Pochettino has been in the dugout for more than five years. Not surprisingly, this event sparked rumors of the return of the Argentine tactician to North London.

Pochettino took over as Spurs boss in the summer of 2014 and his spell reached its peak at the end of the 2018/19 season when he took them to the Champions League final, which they eventually lost to Liverpool. Pochettino was sacked six months later due to prolonged poor form, and he later spent 18 months coaching Paris Saint-Germain.

It is believed that during his time in France, Spurs contacted Pochettino with an offer to re-hire him, but his contract with PSG meant this could not happen then. However, now he has no such formal reason not to return.

The 51-year-old is believed to have received several offers in recent months, but he didn’t feel like any of them were right.
