Platini vowed to himself that Zidane would take over Brazil’s training
Michel Platini was named as head of the French Football Federation after former President Noel Le Grey resigned two weeks ago amid sexual and moral harassment prosecutions.
“When I was acquitted in Switzerland, I said I would never return to football institutions,” Platini, the former president of the European Football Association (UEFA), said in a statement to French radio RMC Sport.
The French football legend added: “I will not return to football institutions and the French Federation is part of the football authorities, so I will not return to football or to the French Federation.”
Platini continued: “I have no desire to do this, I have given enough, I was vice-president of the French Federation 30 years ago and that is enough.”
Swiss justice acquitted Platini of fraud charges last July and confirmed that he “will not return to take on duties in football organizations.”
