Paderborn skipper Christian Strohdiek: ‘Bundesliga resumption should be delayed’

Germany’s leading tier is set up to reboot in early May.

Paderborn captain Christian Strohdiek thinks the Bundesliga should postpone the prepared go back to action next month offered the ongoing coronavirus situation.

While lots of leagues throughout Europe are forever suspended, Bundesliga CEO Christian Seifert recently mentioned an intent to reboot the season in early May.

Clubs in the leading 2 tiers of German football are back training, however limitations stay in location in a quote to suppress the spread of Covid-19– something that leaves Strohdiek questioning the decision to reboot the season so soon.

Asked if German decision makers should wait a couple of more weeks prior to going back to action, the Paderborn skipper informed the BBC’s World Football program: “Yeah, for sure.

” Since we discuss that the school is closed therefore lots of people remain at home, and we wish to start to play football.

“Yeah, for me, we want to play football, we want to play until the end of the season but in this moment it’s very difficult to believe that we can start to play.”

Strohdiek mores than happy to be back working together with team- mates, although social distancing standards are avoiding them training as regular.

“It’s not really normal because, for me, it’s football,” the defender stated.

” Yes, it’s my task, however lots of, lots of tasks they need to remain at home and can’t work and we head out and play a bit of football.

” I’m an employee, it’s my task, and I need to do (it). It does not matter how we feel.

” It’s a weird situation due to the fact that football … yeah, we like this game however in fact it’s a game.

“If there’s some guys sick or something like this, it’s better that they get the testing stuff and something like this.”
