It was another memorable Premier League campaign with a lot of great individual performances.

Here, the PA news agency selects 11 players who made an impression in the 2022-23 season.

Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)

Gunners stopper Ramsdale had an outstanding campaign. The 25-year-old, who recently signed a new long-term contract, made a series of great saves to help salvage positive results that would otherwise see Arsenal’s title bid disappear much sooner. England Ramsdale kept 13 clean sheets ahead of the final weekend to rank among the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle)

Signed from Atlético Madrid in January 2022, defender Trippier continued his integration this season to become one of the key voices in the Magpies’ dressing room as Eddie Howe’s revamped squad pushed towards a top-four finish. In addition to the threat of free-kicks, the England defender also provided overlapping access to supply Newcastle’s marauding attack line. Trippier, named Newcastle’s Player of the Season, also topped the cross-country stats.

William Saliba (Arsenal)

Frenchman Saliba, who was on loan at former clubs Saint-Étienne, Nice and Marseille, had a great debut season in the Premier League before a back injury halted his progress in mid-March and, in turn, possibly , also derailed Arsenal’s fight for the title. The Gunners have won nearly 80 percent of the 27 league games Saliba has played in, conceding just under a goal per game on average, showing how a key part of the defense he has been.

Lewis Dunk (Brighton)

Longtime club captain Dunk played an integral part in the progress under new Seagull boss Roberto De Zerby, leading to his recall to the England squad for the first time in five years. Enjoying the quarterback role at center back, Dunk proved to be a key link in Brighton’s fast transition style that won so much applause. The 31-year-old has completed over 3,200 passes this season, placing him at the top of the overall league stats as Brighton achieved European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

England left-back Shaw has excelled this season under new United boss Erik ten Hag. Shaw’s consistency and versatility have placed him at the heart of United’s defense when needed.

Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

Gunners captain Ødegaard has set an example both creatively and clinically this season with 15 Premier League goals. The Norwegian playmaker was always on the front lines, trying to make room for those around him, or often finding a logarithmic gear when nothing came up.

Declan Rice (West Ham)

The Irons may have dropped points to avoid a relegation battle for much of the Premier League campaign, but midfielder Rice played every game like they were in contention for the title. The England midfielder also played an integral role in helping David Moyes’ team reach the European Conference League final.

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Belgium captain De Bruyne has provided 100 Premier League assists this season, becoming only the fifth player to do so. The 31-year-old again leads the domestic stats with 16 as his regular supply line to City strikers continues to pay dividends. De Bruyne was also central to City’s progression to the Champions League final, equalizing against Real Madrid in the first leg of the semi-finals.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
