Osimhen expresses skepticism about Napoli’s chance of facing AC Milan in Champions League quarter-finals

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen faces a time trial to play any role in the Champions League quarter-final against AC Milan after injury.

Osimhen played both games at Nigeria’s halftime but returned to the Italian club due to a left hip problem.

The club has announced on its website that it will be judged next week, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis hoping the star striker will be back in action soon.

De Laurentiis said, according to Tuttomercato: “We hope he should be out for a couple of weeks.”

On Sunday, Napoli will host AC Milan in Serie A, before heading to Lecce next Friday, with Osimhen likely to miss both matches.

The first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals in Milan will take place on April 12, with the second leg in Naples on April 18.

The 24-year-old Osimhen had a prolific season, scoring 25 goals in 29 games in all competitions, as Luciano Spalletti was 19 points clear of second-placed Lazio in Serie A to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time.

Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone is likely to replace Osimhen as the striker has scored eight times in all competitions this season.
