Spanish club Real Madrid released an official statement today, Saturday, to refute rumors that the president of the royal club, Florentino Pérez, is considering resigning.
Real Madrid said in a statement posted on its official website: “In response to a rumor that appeared on some social media that President Florentino Pérez is considering stepping down as president of the club, Real Madrid FC would like to make the following announcements: : These rumors are absolutely false, they come from certain interests that have nothing to do with reality.
The royal statement added: “We also confirm that during the next general meeting of Real Madrid members there will be no item on the agenda related to the discussion of the name of the city for Real Madrid.

Notably, Real Madrid kick off their campaign for the new Spanish Football League season by facing Athletic Bilbao next Saturday in the league’s first round.
