Bartosz Bereszynski will leave Sampdoria and join Napoli at the end of the year, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 30-year-old right-back is expected to take on a back-up option for captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Alessandro Zanoli, also a right-back, is expected to go in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

After moving between Warta and Lech Poznan several times, Bereszynski spent four years with Legia Warsawa before joining Sampdoria in January 2017 for a reported fee of €1.8m. Since then, he has made a total of 186 appearances for the Italian club, scoring just once and producing eight assists. He has 50 caps for the Polish national team to his credit, including four matches at this year’s World Cup.

As for Zanoli, he joined Napoli at Under-19 level and had loan spells with Serie D sides Carpi and Legnago, before returning to the club 18 months ago. He has only made three appearances this season, one in Serie A and two in the Champions League, all three as a substitute.
