Motionless expresses concern for his daughters after tram collision

Ciro Immobile “feared for his daughters” and feels lucky to have escaped after the Lazio captain’s car was hit by a tram on Sunday.

The Italian striker suffered a spinal deformity and a compound rib fracture when his car was hit in Rome.

He was taken to the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Hospital after an accident that occurred while his two daughters were traveling with him.

Video footage shows that the front of Immobile’s car is badly damaged, and the 33-year-old is relieved that he was not driving a smaller car.

He quotes Corriere dello Sport: “Incredible shot. I only thought about protecting my girls. Nightmare, I was afraid for them. Fortunately, both we and the tram driver are here to talk about it. With another car, I don’t know what would have happened.”

Lazio President Claudio Lotito said: “Ciro is part of our family, he is a champion to whom I am especially attached from a human point of view.

“We are with him and we hope that he will return soon, but now he must have complete peace of mind to think about his health and the health of his daughters.”

Immobile scored his 12th goal of the season from a penalty in Lazio’s 3-0 win over La Spezia last Friday.
