Market: Toronto FC win
Chance: 11/10 @ 888sport
Hoping to extend what has become a much needed push this weekend, Toronto will welcome Chicago Fire away to BMO Field on Sunday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Toronto may know they would need a real miracle if they were to somehow secure a spot in the Final Series, the Reds are enjoying an eye-catching purple patch. Managing to find a way at the foot of the Eastern Conference table, head coach Javier Pérez saw his team put on another eye-catching performance earlier in the week. By clinching what was an action-packed 3-2 win at home against Cincinnati, the former MLS champions are now enjoying a four-game unbeaten run in all formats. Knowing they may have a golden opportunity to extend their recent flurry this weekend, Toronto will also be empowered by their continued success at BMO Field. Including an impressive 2-1 win over Nashville on 19 September, the hosts on Sunday have won each of their last three home games in the header.
As for the visitors, while Chicago may not have been at its best again mid-week, there’s no doubt they would have been boosted by a hard-fought 2-0 win. Desperate to prove their Thursday performance wasn’t just a one-off, Fire have been struggling extensively with their form over the past six weeks. With only a couple of MLS wins to their name from any of their last nine attempts, a run that dates back to mid-August, Chicago has also gained a reputation for its troubles on the road. Including three away defeats in a spin, it should also be noted that Sunday’s hosts have recorded only one win away from Soldier Field so far this season. After suffering a 2-1 defeat the last time they faced Toronto, we are claiming a similar home win here.
