Two teams desperately looking for a boost this weekend, Orlando will welcome Atlanta to Exploria Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Orlando may still find himself fighting at the top of the Eastern Conference, they are undergoing a troubling problem. Putting in what many are heralding as a worst show of the season this past weekend, the Purples were hit with a painful 5-0 in New York City. Posting only a single MLS win in any of the last five attempts in the past month, they really failed to take advantage of that much needed 2-1 win over Philadelphia earlier in the month. However, despite being a team that is really looking for a boost, head coach Óscar Pareja should at least take comfort from his team’s performance at the Exploria Stadium. Last seen on home soil scoring maximum points against the Union, the hosts on Saturday have won three of the last four MLS fights in Florida.

As for visitors, parting with former boss Gabriel Heinze earlier this month, Atlanta only continued on what was a true MLS nightmare. Ultimately struck by a 1-0 loss to Columbus Crew at home last time around, the former champions are now referred to as a true outside pick to grab a spot in the Final Series as well. Without a win in any of the last 10 straight games, a run that dates back to May 16, interim head coach Rob Valentino has seen his team earn a reputation for their extensive problems in the last third. More worrying, it should also be noted that the Five Stripes have yet to record a single win away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium since the opening of the 2021 campaign. While Orlando may be in the midst of its troubling run, we’re backing a home win here.
