Market: New York wins
Chance: 19/20 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves fighting at opposite ends of the Eastern Conference table, New York, will make the trip to Soldier Field in the early hours of Thursday.
Starting with the hosts, while Chicago may have been able to find a much-needed boost at the July opening, The Fire has largely failed to maintain that momentum. Still firmly demolished at the foot of the Eastern Conference and now with just a buffer point over Inter Miami and last place, Joe Mansueto’s men will also know they were lucky enough to have picked up a point over the weekend. Overcome heavily against Philadelphia Union away, the Blacks are now winless in their last four straight MLS games. Showing a number of defensive problems and with their recent slow patch highlighted by a 5-1 percussion against Nashville on July 18, it should also be noted that Chicago was four hit the last time they welcomed NYCFC at Soldier Field.
As for the visitors, while Chicago may be a team that is showing a string of problems after last month’s rebound, New York finds itself enjoying what has been a real purple spot. Managing to prove their streak losses were just a small mistake, Ronny Deila’s side were last seen establishing another scorer. Gaining a lot of acclaim and collecting a showy 4-1 against Columbus Crew at home, the mood in the Blues field should be at its peak. Finding a way to take advantage of their stunning 5-0 win over Orlando City on July 25, NYCFC have now won each of their last three MLS matches on the round. By clinching that action-packed victory the last time they made the trip to Soldier Field, we are claiming a similar away win in the early hours of Thursday.
