MLS News: MLS: Minnesota saves late draw at LAFC

A recovery goal from Hassani Dotson gave Minnesota United a 2-2 draw at Los Angeles FC in MLS action on Wednesday.

Dotson’s right-footed goal from the top 18 in the fifth minute of added time stunned the LAFC and brought Minnesota to a point behind Bob Bradley’s side in the Western Conference standings.

After losing their first four games of the season, Minnesota are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11.

Carlos Vela opened the scoring for LAFC in the 40th minute with his team-record fifth goal of the season, but Emanuel Reynoso equalized for Minnesota four minutes into the second half.

It looked like Tristan Blackmon’s header in the 77th minute would be enough to bring home the three points, but Dotson had other ideas.

His attempt to overtake goalkeeper Tomas Romero left LAFC disappointed after dominating ball possession and controlling the flow of play the entire time.
