Looking to extend what has been a true MLS purple patch, Colorado will welcome the LA Galaxy to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, who put on what was another impressive show last weekend when they scored a well-deserved 1-0 win against San Jose away, Colorado went on to earn only a streak of acclaim from all over America this season. Knowing that another win on Saturday night could see them climb to first place in the Western Conference, head coach Robin Fraser was showered with praise for his team’s continued performance. With a 1-1 stalemate against other Final Series Sporting KC contenders at the end of August, the Rapids have managed to rack up an impressive 13 points in their last five MLS fights alone. Feeling a golden opportunity when they return to Denver this weekend, it should also be noted that Colorado scored a 2-1 win when they faced away guests on Saturday last month.

As for the visitors, while LA Galaxy may have nearly managed to snatch an action packed 3-3 against arch rivals LAFC last weekend, it doesn’t cover what has been a bad run for whites. Despite still sitting in pole position to clinch a spot in the Final Series this season, Head Coach Greg Vanney has seen his team pick up just one point in their last three MLS races. Largely failing to build on those streak wins when heading into August, the Western Conference group has earned a reputation for its recent troubles on the road. With just one win outside of California to their name since late June, there’s no doubt Galaxy could face another tough test in its travels this weekend.
