According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have begun talks with Bayer Leverkusen representatives Jeremy Frimpong about a possible move to Old Trafford this summer. Apparently, United boss Eric ten Hag is a huge fan of the 22-year-old and is looking to join the ranks as a young high-profile right-back.
Frimpong is a true modern defender who contributes at both ends of the field, boasts great pace and creativity in forward movement, and is very difficult to beat on defense. He has made 36 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and assisting teammates nine times.
The first round of talks between Manchester United and agent Geoffrey Lemmert is believed to have ended on a positive note, with Frimpong ready to leave the BayArena at the end of the season. His contract with Leverkusen expires in 2025, which means the Bundesliga club is still in a strong position to negotiate a big fee for his services.
❗️Excl. News #Frimpong: Negotiations between his agent Geoffrey Lemmert and @MJ began! The 1st round was very positive. Ten Hag admires the player. In the summer, Frimpong is ready to leave Leverkusen. Contract until 2025.
