Marcus Rashford’s contract with Manchester United expires in the summer of 2024 and manager Erik ten Hag says it’s an absolute priority for the club to get the England international signed as soon as possible.
The 25-year-old forward has experienced something of a renaissance since Ten Hag took over pre-season and has so far scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 35 appearances in all competitions this season. His form especially deteriorated after the World Cup – after the end of the tournament in Qatar, he scored eight goals in nine Premier League matches.
His name was mostly mentioned in reports about Paris Saint-Germain and their potential need to replace Kylian Mbappe if the French international left for Real Madrid in the near future.
With that in mind, it would certainly make sense for United to force Rashford to sign a new contract as soon as possible, though it has also been reported that they put a £120m price tag on him to try and keep potential fans.
Ten Haeg on Rashford’s contract expiring in 2024: “Rashford’s new deal is a priority. We’re working on it, in the background we’re hard at work. Of course we have to keep Marcus.” 🚨🔴 #MUFC
