Manchester City are set to face Real Madrid tomorrow, Wednesday 17 May 2023, in the second leg of the 2022/23 Champions League semi-finals.

Kyle Elker said in a press conference ahead of City’s game against Real Madrid: “We have a pretty good group, we’ve overcome difficult situations and we’ve gone through difficult times and good times. This match is the icing on the cake, we can put our names in the history books.
And he continued: “Facing a team the size of Real Madrid in the Champions League? It’s a big team for everyone in the dressing room. At the end of the day, we know our goal, this is a huge week for Manchester City. We have put ourselves in a better position than we were two months ago. We are confident that tomorrow we will win and qualify.
He continued, “Playing against Vinicius? I don’t think it’s just Walker vs. Vinicius, it’s a group game. This is a personal battle against one of the best players in the world. I met many who were just as good as he was. Whatever it is, it’s going to be a great fight.
He stressed: “The club misses winning the Champions League. Owners, the amount they invested in the team, we owe them this championship. In the final against Chelsea we didn’t play well, we owe it to ourselves. We will play again against a strong opponent (Real Madrid) to reach the final and then anything can happen.
He concluded by saying: “I represent Manchester City and we have huge ambitions. If I can’t compete with these great players, I shouldn’t be here. I have to act professionally, with the coach and with everyone. I am 32 years old, but I am not old yet, I still feel fit and ready for big challenges.
