Romelu Lukaku appeared to be caught in limbo between Chelsea and Inter Milan, having publicly complained about his situation with regular employers in London and being also publicly informed that he would not remain at the Serie A club at the end of his current loan. What’s more, Inter CEO Giuseppe Moratta said the Belgian striker was not the right player to lead their attack as they rushed towards the Scudetto in 2020/21.
But according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid could offer Lukaku a way out of his current predicament by sending him to the Santiago Bernabéu. By all appearances, they believe that he is still a high quality player, even if he is not injured, obviously boasts a lot of experience at the top level, and they are currently believed to be hard at work finding a potential successor to Karim Benzema.
By the way, it’s worth noting that the media in Spain are well known for publishing these kinds of stories whenever they feel they have a chance to sow the seeds of unrest in teams that could potentially face one of their giants in European competition.
Real Madrid will play Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals and they have a chance to play Inter if they both make it to the final.
