Aston Villa are keen to sign Giovani Lo Celso this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Argentine midfielder is currently playing for Villarreal on his second loan spell with Tottenham Hotspur. He is well known to Villa boss Unai Emery, who coached him in La Liga before leaving to take over at Villa Park last November. Including both spells there, Lo Celso made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions in almost a season and a half, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
Under the current circumstances, the 27-year-old should return to North London at the end of the season, with his contract remaining for two more years, but Villa, who could still qualify for European competition in 2023/24, is keen to add him to their ranks as they’re looking to build on the excellent campaign they’ve had since Emery’s arrival.
From the looks of it, Lo Celso is interested in joining Aston Villa, but he’s still waiting to see who becomes the new Spurs boss next season.
