Leeds United owner ‘working year on year’ to keep Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani acknowledges that he works ‘year on year’ to keep head coach Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Roadway.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has recommended that it is challenging to keep Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Roadway.

Bielsa directed the Yorkshire giants to Premier League promo last year, an achievement which has been followed by 10 points being gathered from 7 league games this season.

With the Argentine only holding a one-year contract, Radrizzani has acknowledged that keeping the services of the 65-year- old is not an inescapable conclusion at the end of each campaign.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Radrizzani stated: “Well, I hope he can stick with us for a long time, however we like to choose year by year due to the fact that clearly as I stated in another interview he’s not a young manager, he’s 65 and his family, his better half is typically in Argentina.

“Hopefully he can stay longer – 60 is the new 40 these days! If not, I think what he’s building is the foundation for a proper club.”

Bielsa has never ever invested more than 3 seasons in any of his previous club positions.
