    Lazio captain’s car collides with tram, but immobilizer prevents serious injury

    Lazio captain Ciro Immobile was not seriously injured after his car collided with a tram on Sunday morning.

    It is reported that the Italian striker was taken to the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Hospital after an accident in Rome.

    It was reported that Immobile’s two daughters were also in his car when the Italian captain was involved in an accident.

    Lazio said in a statement that the 33-year-old suffered a spinal curvature and a compound rib fracture.

    Immobile, who is under observation in the hospital of the Eternal City, said at the scene: “The tram ran a red light. Luckily, I’m fine, it’s just that my arm hurts a little.”

    Video footage shows significant damage to the front of Immobile’s car.

    Immobile scored his 12th goal of the season from a penalty kick in Lazio’s 3-0 win over La Spezia on Friday.
