Real Madrid appear set to do without Toni Kroos for the start of the new season, with the midfielder confirming he suffered from a pubic bone problem.
Real Madrid confirmed Tuesday that Kroos, who withdrew from international football following Germany’s disappointing performance at Euro 2020, was diagnosed with groin pain, a tear or soft-tissue tear in his groin.
Kroos later revealed on Twitter that he has been suffering from the problem for some time.
“After several months (sic.) Of problems with my pubic bone I think it’s time to rest and work on it to be well prepared for a long season. I’ll be back as soon as possible, “tweeted the 31-year-old.

On Wednesday, reports in the Spanish publication AS suggested that Kroos may be out for about a month.
Even if the estimate turns out to be incorrect, Kroos seems highly unlikely he will be able to play in Carlo Ancelotti’s opening match of La Liga in his second stint at the helm of Real Madrid.
Los Blancos, who will face Milan in the last friendly pre-season on Sunday, will face Deportivo Alaves on 14 August. They will then move to Levante and Real Betis before the first stop for the national teams of 2021-22.
Kroos made 28 league appearances last season, scoring three goals.
