LaLiga News: Raising Sergi Roberto for Barcelona

The full-blown Sergi Roberto was among a small group of Barcelona players who returned to training on Monday.

The versatile 30-year-old has not played since dislocating his left shoulder after scoring a goal in a 4-0 win against Athletic Bilbao that was thrashed by Barça in October.

Sergio Roberto received permission to train at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper three weeks before the Blaugrana return to play against Espanyol on 31 December.

Defender Ronald Araujo also revealed training to continue his recovery from a groin injury that left him unable to play for Uruguay in the World Cup.

Frank Kessy is also out as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The midfielder Kessy has been linked with Inter, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Fulham just five months after joining the Catalan giants from Milan on a free transfer.

Hector Bellerin, Marcos Alonso and Inaki Peña were training after a two-week break while many of their teammates were at the World Cup.

Head coach Xavi will welcome the other players who are no longer in Qatar at the end of this week.
