Achraf Hakimi dreams of wearing Real Madrid’s white shirt again one day, according to Antonio Conte.
Conte coached Hakimi at Inter last season after the Nerazzurri had bought him from Real for a figure that was believed to be around 40 million euros. Together they won the Serie A title before Conte left the club at the end of the campaign and Hakimi moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, for almost € 70m.
As reported by Brand, Conte recently spoke to Sky in Italy about the Algerian right-back.
Psychologically, Hakimi suffered a bit from last year’s matches against Real Madrid,” said the Italian tactician.
His dream is to return to play for that club as a protagonist. “
Hakimi spent two very successful seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund and had reportedly hoped for a leading role upon his return to Real in 2020, but Zinedine Zidane, their head coach at the time, was unwilling to give him a chance to fight Dani Carvajal for a spot in his regular XI holder.
