    Klopp supports Lampard in response to Everton sacking: ‘He’s got everything ahead of him’

    Jurgen Klopp sympathizes with Frank Lampard after his sacking as Everton coach and believes the Englishman has a great coaching career ahead of him.

    Lampard was sacked on Monday after losing 2-0 to West Ham, leaving Everton in 19th place in the Premier League and two points behind safety.

    The 44-year-old was signed by Everton just 12 months ago and left Goodison Park with nine wins in 38 league matches.

    He had also previously been sacked by Chelsea, but Klopp backed Lampard to succeed in his next position after having a hard time at Everton.

    “It’s business, that’s how it works,” Klopp told reporters on Friday ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup fourth round match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

    “I sympathize with Frank. He tried everything. Last year was not easy for him, and he did well. They lost richarlison [to Tottenham] and we know how badly injuries can affect a team.

    Frank will be back. He is still a young coach, and he has everything ahead of him.

    Sean Dyche is expected to be appointed on Friday as Everton’s seventh manager in as many years as the Toffees tried to avoid their first relegation since 1951.

    Former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was reportedly owner Farhad Moshiri’s preferred choice, with Klopp joking that Dyche’s appointment might not be as clear-cut.

    Everton, who have lost a four-game streak, will return to action in a home game against league leaders Arsenal on 4 February.
