Keane’s goal keeps Juventus moving forward in 1-0 win over Verona.

Moise Keane led Juventus to their fifth successive victory in all competitions with a 1-0 victory over Verona at the Allianz Stadium.

A relatively calm game gave few clear moments, Danilo hit the target at the best moment of the first half.

However, Keane made sure the home supporters had something to celebrate after Juventus’ great performance.

Although far from a classic performance, Juventus are four points behind fifth-placed Atalanta and three points behind sixth-placed Roma, who play on Sunday.

Verona almost broke the deadlock in the 15th minute: Kevin Lasagna made a dangerous cross to the far post, and Fabio Depaoli fired a volley wide of Wojciech Szczesna’s goal.

Danilo came closest to the break, his free-kick touched the upper left corner of the crossbar.

Juve got their winner in the 55th minute. A great move culminated in Manuel Locatelli replacing Keane, who was successful and brought his league goal tally to six for the season.

However, Massimiliano Allegri’s team did not play at home and were not dry, with Szczesny breaking off his line to push off a lost ball and Lasagna hiding after his defense left him in the lurch.

Juventus once again had to thank Szczesny for holding back a furious attempt by Filippo Terracciano.

Bremer squandered a great belated scoring opportunity by somehow aligning a try from inside the six-metre penalty area, though fortunately for the defender, Verona were unable to make Juventus pay for his miss.
