French star Karim Benzema of Real Madrid set historic weight records after his goal against Chelsea in the first leg of the 2022/23 Champions League quarter-finals now taking place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

According to Opta’s global network of numbers and statistics, Karim’s last 11 Champions League goals have been against English clubs (5 against Chelsea, 3 against Liverpool, 3 against Manchester City).
The source stressed that no player from the five major European leagues has scored more goals in all competitions during 2023 than the French star, with 18 goals tied by Arling Haaland.
Benzema has also scored 20 goals against English clubs in the Champions League, only Lionel Messi has scored (27) goals more against England.
