Liverpool suffered their first Europa League defeat, their second in all competitions this season, on Thursday away to Toulouse. The French side took the lead through Aron Donnum in the 36th minute, with Theis Dallinga doubling their lead in the 58th minute. The Merseysiders reduced their lead through an own goal from Christian Casseres in the 74th, but Toulouse restored the deficit two minutes later thanks to the work of Frank Magri. Diogo Jota scored again for Liverpool in the 89th minute and youngster Jarrell Quansah appeared to equalize in the final second of stoppage time, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball by Alexis Mac Allister during the build-up.
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp was clearly unhappy with his team’s performance.
