    Jordi Alba Officially Calls it Quits from Spanish National Football Team

    The Spanish Football Federation has announced the departure of Jordi Alba, the current defender of the American Inter Miami, from international football as part of the Matador national team.

    Alba wore the La Roja armband after his Inter Miami colleague Sergio Busquets announced his retirement from international football after being knocked out of the 2022 World Cup by Morocco.

    Alba joined Inter Miami this summer on a free transfer from Barcelona.

    And the Spanish Federation released a statement on its website confirming that Alba had said goodbye to the Spain jersey by writing a perfect final after winning the European Nations League title as captain of La Roja.

    Alba took part in 92 matches for the Spanish national team, scoring 9 goals and contributed to the victory in the Euro 2012 European Championship and the 2023 European Nations League at the expense of the Netherlands.

    Alba wore his country’s jersey for nearly 12 years starting in October 2011, before he ended that international career at the age of 34, after competing in the World Cup, a three-time European Nations Cup and the London Olympics. as well as the Confederations Cup.
