French football club Lyon announced on Sunday the transfer of French right-back Malou Gusto to English Chelsea for 30 million euros and five million bonuses for a period of seven and a half years.
Before joining the London Premier League No. 10 team, Gusto (19) will remain on loan in the French League No. 9 until the end of this season.
Gusto was Chelsea’s seventh signing in the current winter transfer period, behind Ukraine’s Mykhailo Modric, Ivorian David Datro Fofan, France’s Benoît Badiachel, England’s Noni Madueki and Brazil’s Andre Santos on permanent deals, as well as Portugal’s João Felix on loan from Atlético Madrid. .
Gusto joined Olympique Lyon at the age of fourteen from Bourgoyne-Gallie, but for the defender who started his football career as a midfielder, things accelerated as he signed his first professional contract in December 2020 before starting to play in the French First Division against Saint-Étienne in January 2021.
Gusto established himself at Lyon at the expense of Leo Dubois, who moved to Galatasaray Turkey this summer, and has made 77 appearances in all competitions so far.
