Inter Signs New Contract With Calkhanoglu

Despite recent speculation that Hakan Calhanoglu could leave Inter this summer to find a Premier League job with either Leeds United or Southampton, the Nerazzurri and the Turkish attacking midfielder are close to a deal expanding its partnership beyond 2024 when its current deal expires. That, according to Fabrizio Romano, who says these assumptions about Southampton and Leeds are “100% wrong”.

Calhanoglu joined Inter as a free agent from city rivals Milan in 2021. Since then, he has made a total of 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 19 assists.

Before coming to Italy, the 29-year-old spent time in Germany playing for Karlsruhe, Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen.
