Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has exposed that the Italian giants are intending to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez for the rest of their Europa League campaign.
As it stands, the Chile international’s loan at San Siro is because of end on August 7, implying that as well as the rest of the Serie A season, he will be offered to face Getafe in the Europa League.
United are presumably declining to extend the arrangement as Inter want to advance deep into the European competition, however Marotta is still confident that an option can be reached.
“It’s an anomalous issue, considering the Europa League can be changed by the absence of certain players. The situation has not been resolved yet, we are working to at least keep hold of him for the entire Europa League,” Marotta informed Sky Sports Italia.
The 31- year-old has scored 4 times and contributed 10 assists in 27 appearances for Inter this season, consisting of 4 goals and 9 assists in 20 Serie A getaways.
Sanchez’s contract at Old Trafford is because of run till the summer of 2022.
