Insights from Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa

Manchester United edged out Aston Villa on Sunday to maintain their rise in the top four in the Premier League.

In a meeting between the two best players in English football, Manchester United won by one goal against Aston Villa. It was a competition, but in the end Erik ten Hag’s men crossed the finish line.

Today we’re going to take a look at some of our biggest takeaways from what happened.

    Landmark Bruno

Bruno Fernandes was the man who scored the winning goal for Manchester United and in doing so he scored the 100th goal of his career. The Portuguese sensation has a habit of being hot and cold, but when he’s at his best, you can argue he’s unstoppable. Yesterday, when it was really important, he appeared and put Vilya to the sword.

    checking the villa for reality

Aston Villa’s 10-match unbeaten streak has officially come to an end. Unai Emery was able to do something really special with the boys from the second city, and thanks to this, they now have every chance to get to Europe. With that said, it certainly was a big reality check for them. They haven’t really been able to assert dominance the way they wanted to, and it will be interesting to see how they manage.

    Single medium business

Even with all the injuries, suspensions and busy matches, Manchester United is still one of the best teams in England. They play like a serious team and they play like a team that feels confident. We’re not saying they’ll be fighting for the title next season, but we’re saying the sleeping giant is slowly starting to wake up.
