Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire expresses his satisfaction at being named captain of the club simply months after his arrival.
Harry Maguire has spoken of his satisfaction at being named Manchester United captain.
The 27-year-old inherited the armband from Inter Milan-bound Ashley Younger in January, simply months after becoming a member of from Leicester City in a world-record move for a defender.
Maguire misplaced his first two matches after being named the captain, however is since unbeaten in 11 games, profitable eight of these.
“It’s a great honour to be the captain of this great club. I’ve not really felt any different or acted any different,” the England worldwide instructed Inside United.
“I see myself as fairly a presence on the pitch and fairly vocal across the lads. We’re a young group and we want experience and we have now the likes of Victor [Lindelof], David [De Gea] and Juan [Mata], who’re actually skilled across the dressing room.
“We need to help these young boys develop and make sure we develop into a top team and go and start challenging for big trophies.”
Maguire has been an ever-present for United within the Premier League this season and has made 41 appearances throughout all competitions.
