‘Hard to talk to you’ – Frosty Klopp interrupts reporter after Liverpool’s loss to Wolves

Jurgen Klopp refused to speak to a reporter following Liverpool’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, apparently saying he was too critical of the out-of-shape Reds.

Liverpool’s league winless streak stretched to four matches at Molineux as Craig Dawson and Ruben Neves scored goals after Joel Matip scored an own goal early on.

Wolves’ first goal was the fifth goal Liverpool have conceded in the first five minutes of Premier League play this season, more than any other team, with Dawson’s second goal coming just seven minutes later.

At the post-match press conference, Athletic’s James Pearce asked Klopp if Liverpool’s penchant for slow starts was due to an attitude problem, and the Reds boss was unimpressed by the line of questions.

“You are very difficult to talk to, to be 100 percent honest. I would rather not do it,” Klopp told Pierce. “You know why, because of everything you wrote.

“If anyone else wants to ask that question, I’ll answer it.”

Another journalist present repeated the same question, to which a visibly annoyed Klopp replied.

Meanwhile, Klopp’s comments about Wolves’ third goal quickly drew the ire of the Molineux club on social media.

Klopp praised Liverpool’s performance in the second half at his press conference, adding: “I don’t count the third goal because it’s the first time they’ve crossed the halfway line.”

Wolves reacted with a cheeky tweet from their official account, replicating their usual permanent message with an image showing the score 2-0 and Neves’ goal crossed out.

Neves’ goal was his fifth Premier League goal of the campaign, making it his highest-scoring season in the competition (also five in 2020-21).
