It is worth noting that the average midfielder for the German club is linked with a move to Turkish side Galatasaray during the next winter transfer in January 2024.

Ilkay joined Barça last summer from English side Manchester City after terminating his contract with them and thus arrived at the Catalan club as a free player.

Blaugrana officials, led by club president Joan Laporta, have been very keen on signing the German as they consider him a vital element that will provide greater strength to Barca’s midfield.

According to the newspaper,Sport“The Spanish club said that Xavi Hernandez, the coach of the Catalan team, showed full confidence in Elkay, as he began to consider him a pillar of strength in his team.

Although it has been a difficult start in terms of participation in matches, partly due to the numerous injuries the team has suffered in recent weeks, Gundogan has complete confidence.

Notably, Ilkay also caused controversy after El Clasico with some words in which he attacked players in the dressing room after the defeat to Real Madrid. These statements were exaggerated and all sorts of speculations were spread around the player.

According to the newspaper, the player’s name has been linked this week with a possible move to Galatasaray, a club that has always said it admires Ilkay and wants to sign him.

Those close to the player sought to deny this possibility and did so categorically, and the only thing missing was for the German star to do it publicly, which is what happened.

The Turkish press published some of his remarks after a friendly match between Germany and Turkey during the international break, where the player stated: Barça: “I am very happy in Spain, in my club,” which has closed any possibility of leaving Barcelona.
