Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, set two records with the English club, achieving victory over Nottingham Forest in the sixth round of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
City were able to win thanks to two unanswered goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, increasing their tally to 18 points and extending their lead at the top of the English Premier League.
It is worth noting that City are the holders of last season’s 2022/23 Premier League title after a fierce rivalry with Arsenal.
Guardiola sets two records with Manchester City
City equaled their record of winning 6 consecutive matches in the first 6 rounds of the league, set in 2016, making the current team the sixth team to achieve this achievement.
This comes after Newcastle United, Chelsea twice, Liverpool and City.
Spaniard Pep Guardiola became the first coach in the history of the Premier League to win the first 6 rounds in a row in two different seasons.
He is the second coach to achieve this record after he managed to break his own record in 2016-2017.
