Atlético Madrid are set to bring in a new striker to their squad this summer. Telegraphone of the names they put up for consideration is Mason Greenwood.
After a rather confusing situation in England, where he was charged with attempted rape, control and coercion, and assault occasioning bodily harm before all charges were dropped, Greenwood left Manchester United last summer to join Getafe on loan for this season. In 22 appearances for the La Liga side in all competitions, he has scored seven goals and provided four assists, and Atletico manager Diego Simeone appears to like what he has seen from the 22-year-old striker.
Greenwood is a versatile attacking player who primarily operates on the right flank, but is quite capable of playing on the left flank or through central areas when required. He was once a highly sought after youngster, but it remains to be seen how much of an impact his troubled past will have on his future career.
