According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Olivier Giroud looks set to extend his current contract with AC Milan.
The Frenchman’s current contract will expire in June. However, while initial reports indicated that he may venture elsewhere, a verbal pact on a new deal is believed to have been agreed.
This likely comes on the heels of his stunning World Cup performances for France, in which he was able to really step up for Les Bleus in the absence of Karim Benzema.
The 36-year-old may not be the type of player to stick around forever, and the man himself probably knows it. Equally, however, he has been instrumental in AC Milan’s success in recent years.
The Italian giants have finally started to look like the big club they once were and even if it’s just for one more year, Giroud will be important.
