Galtier faces stormy week as PSG aims for Lens rematch in Numbers game

Christophe Galtier needs support from his Paris Saint-Germain players when they take on Lens in a big Ligue 1 match on Saturday after such a hectic week.

On Friday, it was reported that Galtier initiated legal proceedings after the PSG head coach was accused of making racist remarks about players during his tenure as Nice boss.

Galtier, who denies the accusations, has faced calls to step down just over nine months after he took office.

The 56-year-old expressed gratitude for the support he has received as PSG leaders prepare to face runner-up Lance on Saturday when a win at the Parc des Princes will lead them nine points clear.

PSG must focus to get revenge on Lance

Lens beat the champions 3-1 at home on New Year’s Day thanks to goals from Przemysław Frankowski, Lois Openda and Alexis Claude Maurice.

Les Sans and Or are undefeated in three matches against PSG, which have responded to back-to-back home defeats to Rennes and Lyon by winning 2-0 in Nice for the last time.

Lens are the only team the Parisian giants have not beaten in Ligue 1 since the start of last season.

PSG will look to not lose three consecutive home matches in the French top flight for the first time since April 2021.
