The European Football Association (UEFA) launched an investigation after a fan of the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven stormed the field and hit the Sevilla goalkeeper during a match between the two teams in the Europa League.

Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic knocked a fan to the ground after he attacked him late in Thursday’s game.

Players from both teams surrounded the fan who had been taken away, and several fans at the stadium in Eindhoven booed.

Dmitrovich was unharmed and ended the match.

UEFA did not issue a statement on the matter, but confirmed on Friday that an investigation had been launched.

The match ended in a 2-0 loss to Sevilla, but advanced to the round of 16 of the Europa League, beating them 3-2 home and away on aggregate.

In the next round, he will face Sevilla, the six-time reigning champions, and Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
