    Fan stabbed in violent clashes between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain supporters

    A Paris Saint-Germain fan was stabbed on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s match with AC Milan in the fourth round of the Champions League, according to Italian press reports.

    Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that clashes between AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain fans left a fan of the French club taken to hospital in critical condition after being stabbed twice.

    The Italian newspaper indicated that what happened could be a real ambush on Paris Saint-Germain fans, staged by a group of ultras of the Milan club, in one of the city’s districts.

    The ambush began with the explosion of firecrackers, then a series of smoke bombs and finally an organized attack by ultras, after which police immediately rushed to the scene to try to restore calm.

    The report confirmed that the total number of casualties so far is as follows: two French fans were injured, one of whom was taken to hospital, while an officer received non-serious injuries and an Milan fan was taken to a police station.

    Paris Saint-Germain top the group table with 6 points, followed by Newcastle United with 4 points, who are ahead of Borussia Dortmund on goal difference, while Milan are bottom of the group table with two points.
