Bruno Guimarães feels ‘at home’ at Newcastle United despite reports of interest from European champions Real Madrid.
Guimarães was a flagship signing for Newcastle in January 2022 in their first transfer window since being taken over by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.
The Brazilian international has made a huge impact and impressed once again this season in a team vying for Champions League qualification, also reaching the EFL Cup final.
The kit is said to have caught the attention of La Liga giants Madrid, but Guimarães appears to be committed to Newcastle.
The former Lyon midfielder received the Northeast Football Writers Association Player of the Year award on Sunday before posting on social media.
“When I said yes to Newcastle, I was sure I was choosing a big project,” Guimarães wrote.
“From the bottom of my heart, I didn’t expect to live such wonderful things as I live here.

“Respect for the team, love for the fans and feeling at home every day.
“Thank you to everyone who made (it) possible to experience it all.”
Guimarães has scored three goals in 18 league appearances this season, although he missed most of February due to suspension.
Newcastle have been out of form since the Premier League resumed after the World Cup, with just two wins in their last nine games.
Back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Manchester City, on either side of the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester United, halted their momentum.
The Magpies are hoping to return to victory when they face the Wolves on Sunday.
