The board of directors of the Ismaili club sacked their coach Ahmed Hossam Mido on Wednesday, the day after a 1-1 draw against Ghazl El Mahalla in the Egyptian Football League’s 19th round.
Mido took over the training of the Ismailis after the sacking of Spaniard Juan Carlos Garrido due to poor results, but he failed to return to the path of victory in nine matches under him, limiting himself to one victory against five draws and three losses.
Ismaily is 17th in the league with 14 points.
Hamza El-Gamal, a former Ismaili player and coach, is seen as the strongest candidate to take over the team’s training, replacing Mido.
